Our room was gorgeous and extremely spacious, included with a great view, hot tub, and large screen television. The setting was marvelous, and the staff were pleasant people in a very cheerful manner.

The rooms are dirty. Spiderwebs, dust, the whole shebang. It's a decent place but certainly not 4 or 5 stars. They try to pretend as so though. Wouldn't recommend to the experienced traveler or romantic couple with $ to spend. A leaking toilet from the room above (brown water leaking from the ceiling into the bathroom had us move rooms. They upgraded us the next morning to a "luxury" suite. It was still dirty. Cobwebs with flies in them. Lack of attention to detail. Try some other place in Mendocino until these guys get their act together.

General decor of the facility and garden were lovely, as was the excellent indoor front porch with lots of natural light where I ate dinner and breakfast. Loved the classical music playing quietly in the background. Most of the rooms were nicely done. Cordial and accommodating staff.
Bedside lights were insufficient for reading in my room--#4 I think

The room was beautiful and spacious, with a nice big bathroom. The location was perfect, close to everything in town. We enjoyed reading in the beautiful garden and had a delicious dinner and drinks at the restaurant and bar. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast included was excellent, with cooked-to-order dishes.
Although the antiques in the room needed some maintenance, the overall experience was great. The towels were soft and the room had high-quality amenities.

We liked the hotel very much. The view from the windows was very nice, the bathroom wonderful (with a huge old bathtub) and very clean. The room was spacious and quiet and had old but reliable windows (which is important, because Mendocino may be very windy!) and a nice bed. Good breakfast facilities and very good restaurant (quite expensive, though).
The furniture is 'brocante', but in our room the two seats were worn out.

The location and beauty of the inn was phenomenal. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Everything in town and access to the ocean was walking distance from the Inn. The Inn was beautiful, charming and well kept.
The room we were in was pretty noisy at night since the hotel bar is open to the publicand our room was right above it. We go to bed fairly early, so it was a bit of a problem, Next time I would stay in a room that was more private.

We had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel. The location was perfect, right near the ocean and within walking distance to all the other restaurants in town. The room we stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated, and it had all the amenities we could ask for, including ironing facilities, tea and coffee facilities, and a mini-bar. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always greeting us with a cheerful smile. The breakfast in the restaurant was delicious, and we even received a voucher to enjoy a meal there. the service and comfort provided by this venue were top-notch.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

I enjoyed the antique atmosphere of the hotel (built in 1882), its closeness to the ocean and the excellent food.
My wife would have preferred a queen-sized bed to the full-sized bed in the room, but that would not have been in keeping with the older era atmosphere.
